Back in business, and overclocked

I’ve taken my PC to enough LAN parties over the days to know when a box is slightly borked or completely hosed. In this case the DVD-RW was the culprit. I picked up an $80 Sony dual layer DVD-RW drive when I was doing authoring on the “Best of Hak5 Season One DVD” (Which I promise will eventually become a shrink wrapped goodie for your purchasing enjoyment soon enough). I think I maybe got two burns out of it before it decided to byte the dust. I unplugged the bastage and all is well now. Overclocked even. I got this old dog from 1.83 GHz to 2.02 GHz by going from a 166 to 182 FSB. Gotta love those Barton core XP 2500’s. And thankfully I wasn’t cheap and picked up some nice OCZ Cas 2 ram when I built the boxen.

Now I want a new system though. Anyone want to make a recommendation on a board/chip that’ll get me outa the stone age? AGP is a MUST HAVE requirement (I can’t toss the ATI Radeon X850 XT Platinum to the bit bucked just yet).
