All Hands On Deck!
I’m preparing for my company’s annual all hands meeting next month which reminds me of a phrase mom used to say. I can hear her voice in my head now as she hollered “All hands on deck!” usually meaning that us kids had to either clean something or go somewhere. This differed from when she would holler “Karen” and I would come running, or when she hollered “Darren” and Karen would come running. If she had her way naming Erik we would all come running as mom wanted to bestow him with the next obvious name, Erin. Thankfully Paul talked her out of it. Now instead of growing up as a rhyming litter of hooligans who would later evolve in to the next partridge family, we’re left with Karen Gail, Darren Dale, and Erik Paul, whose name is frequently misspelled as “Eric”.
So to end this senseless post I’d like to give a word up to my bro Erik, the alien of the pack. Keep it real.
